Optimistic youngsters are to go head to head in the latest episode of MTV Base VJ Search, sponsored by Citroën DS3 Cabrio on MTV Base, channel 322 on Friday, 6 September at 17:00. A previous episode saw the first stage of the Cape Town auditions – but now it’s time for the Cape Town callbacks, when the axe begins to fall on the latest batch of VJ hopefuls.
Confidence they have in spades – but do they have what it takes to impress the judges and drive away with an MTV Base contract and a Citroën DS3 Cabrio worth R 315 000?
Among the eager Capetonians vying to get through to the next stage of the life-changing talent contest are softly spoken Thula Ngubane, super-slick Loren Loubser, and the current Mr India SA: Tevin Naidu. They’ll be put through a number of challenges by celebrity judges Sizwe Dhlomo, Joey Rasdien, Bonang Matheba and Good Hope FM’s DJ Loyd, including a red carpet link with a celebrity Rihanna lookalike.
MTV Base VJ and former VJ search winner Nomuzi Mabena hosts the fun-packed programme with her typical brio and enthusiasm, alternately rejoicing or commiserating with the VJ hopefuls, and giving the inside track on how the contest is going.
MTV Base and Citroën are offering one anti-ordinary viewer the opportunity to become a #BackSeatVJ and drive away in the Citroën DS3 Cabrio Design. Each week, watch the show, complete the Twitter challenge, and if one impresss the judges, one could be selected to go head-to-head in a final #BackSeatVJ showdown for the right to drive away in a Citroën DS3 Cabrio Design.
